every woman has her shade of red

LIPS! people. I mean lipstick.

I am not a big wearer of make up. Work does not see it, nor do my house pets if I am sticking around home. I only really apply make up for an evening out. By evening out.. I mean the movie theater usually does not qualify for eye liner.

However, a recent comment on Reddit reminded me of my special shade of red lipstick. Every girl has her shade, unfortunatly many girls do not seem not confident enough to wear it. The secret is.... Every girl can wear red lipstick. There is a shade for each of you. Search it out!

A few years back I was hell bent on a mission to find my shade, and 4 lipsticks later, I found one that made me feel right.  Marcelle Rouge vitality 370 vintage red:

I wore this shade out for half a year, even to the movie theater.   Now I pull it out slightly less, but damit, everytime I love putting it on.

I am now facing the possibility after a realization my stick is tragically nearing the end of it's life and a very brief internet search, I may be faced with the task yet again to replace my red with a new 'my red', as Marcelle Vintage red might indeed be discontinued.

Sephora is opening up in regina....this could be fun!

she's taking on water mates

And so it goes, my Christmas decorating aspirations have been corrected.  Instead, I am 3 days into enjoying an excursion at La hospital Pasqua in a private suite (a free upgrade from the hallway bed), awaiting a special activity called "cholecystitis" also known as removing my gall bladder. Useless piece of tissue, thanks for the help GB -no help. .  On the menu since tuesday is Nil per Os. (nothing to eat for those of you who arn't speechies). (today is saturday).

I must admit, though I work with people in acute care, I have a new appreciation for my patients who I have to recommend NPO with, and I have never actually stayed over night in a hospital before, no have I ever had an IV line, or surgery  I'm kind of close to being a big baby over it all., but from the sounds of it, my system malfunctioning was about to be getting real...as in real big problems (jaundice, pancreatitis,.) had I not come to this.

I have unfortunatly been too nauseous to knit, but I understand I will have recovery time at home where I expect knitting will be the perfect companion....provided I have some runners to get me yarn...(any volunteers??
positive: my surgeon assures me she has done over 300 of these surguries.
negative: my surgeon assures me I am her first ever patient with choledocholithiasis
(It is the stones in the common bile duct shared with your pancreatic duct that really fuck one up a tree)
